This is a study of red balsam growing in a tropical garden. It measures 22.472 in x 24 in. The beautiful fuchsia, red and purple blooms are set against the lush green backdrop of the leaves with a dramatic black vignette. My prints are made on Kodak Endura Metallic Paper which has a glossy finish and pearlescent metallic appearance. This paper uses a proprietary combination of film laminate layers, which results in striking, three-dimensional, lasting images on an ultra-bright background. When I moved from the cold, long winters of Washington, DC to the never-ending summer of South Florida, I found my love for growing flowers just kept expanding. Growing and nurturing flowers gives me a sense of calm and fulfillment in a world that is sometimes chaotic. In my digital artwork, I try to find a way to convey that sense to the observer in a timeless image.
