This is a study of a zebra butterfly taking nectar from ixora blooms. It measures 25.76 in (65.43 cm) x 21.253 in (53.98 cm). The cluster of ixora blooms are vividly hued in saturated tones of red and violet and the background is a dramatic mix of deep, luminous shades of green and cyan.  This piece is full of texture and color.  When I moved from the cold, long winters of Washington, DC to the never-ending summer of South Florida, I found my love for growing flowers just kept expanding.   Growing and nurturing flowers gives me a sense of calm and fulfillment in a world that is sometimes chaotic.  In my digital artwork, I try to find a way to convey that sense to the observer in a timeless image.
