This is a study of a large abelia bloom. It measures 55.667 in (141.39 cm) x 35.167 in (89.32 cm). The cluster of blooms are vividly hued in tones of pink and violet and the background is a kaleidoscope of swirling shades of green, cream, pink, cyan and red-orange.  This piece is full of texture and color.  When I moved from the cold, long winters of Washington, DC to the never-ending summer of South Florida, I found my love for growing flowers just kept expanding.   Growing and nurturing flowers gives me a sense of calm and fulfillment in a world that is sometimes chaotic.  In my digital artwork, I try to find a way to convey that sense to the observer in a timeless image.
